Spaceships? Spaceships!? SPACESHIPS!!!

Okay I know that title is a little out there, but given how long I’ve had to keep this whole thing on the down-low, I’d say it’s warranted! Our last post talked about our plans for 2025, and the new missions we have in the works. (Our newest mission, Singularity, just had it’s trailer dropped by the way so check it out after this!) We had a lot of exciting stuff to talk about, but to be honest, it left out a VERY big announcement.

Upgrades and Renovations

Our partner school, Lakeview Academy, is about to begin construction on a big expansion! This is going to bring a lot of cool stuff such as an additional classroom for each grade, a full theatre for school plays, and more! So I bet you’re wondering what that means for us here at Lion’s Gate. Well now that funding has been secured and all the important stuff is out of the way, I can officially say that Lion’s Gate Space Center will be getting THREE NEW SIMULATORS!

Now I use the word simulator intentionally here. When talking about Space Centers, we tend to use the word ship and simulator pretty interchangeably, but to say we are getting 3 new ships would technically be a lie. Two of these new simulators will be ships, but the third is a first for Lion’s Gate, a space STATION simulator!

The First Ever Station Simulator

Lion’s Gate Space Station has been the starting point for almost every mission we fly. It’s a place almost as recognizable to our students as the planet it orbits. When talk began on this expansion, we wanted to not just grow our program, but create something that could allow for entirely new experiences in our simulators. When the idea came to create a simulator for this station, we immediately saw the potential. New jobs to master, new takes on existing archetypes, and a massive range of possibilities for what crew members could do in this new environment.

We currently operate two simulators, with a total capacity of 32 crew members. With the addition of the two new ships and the station simulator, our capacity will more then triple, for a total capacity of 104! Imagine that many people all exploring the cosmos at once, running missions both as individual crews, and as a coordinated fleet! It still boggles my mind just thinking about it!

What this Means For Now

Construction begins this May, and should finish in August of 2026. As a result of construction, we will not be running any camps this summer. We will still be running group missions throughout the year, and we are still on pace to launch all 6 new missions by the end of this year. I’ll continue to provide updates on new missions, ships, controls, and more in the future, so stay tuned because, again, there is STILL more I have to hold off on sharing. (Send help I’m going INSANE)

Until next time, fly safe out there!
